What Would Happen If All Internal Emails Where Public

Had a thought on the way home from work. "What would happen if all internal emails where public". Public to the company that is... not to the world.

Now the down side would be everyone could see when I was flirting with a co-worker but what about the positives.

If everyone could see what emails you sent and to whom then wouldn't you think a lot more about the messages that you sent.

Also if anyone could reply to your message whether or not it was for them could that save you from possible disaster.

But in the age when often we get way to much information than we can cope with.

But the balance exists. Send out too many emails and people will learn to ignore you and maybe the application could show you something as been marked as ignore or watch. Do you want to be know as a spammer.

We could also allow broadcasts to groups. Probably not so important or even very important but will be listed away from personal messages.
